The Challenge HALL OF FAME
THE CHALLENGE HALL OF FAME
There is an honor in being the best at what you do. Championships, yearly awards and fans all mean something to each competitor. But there is something even more special; a Hall of Fame. Every major sport has one. Things that have nothing to do with sports have one. I recently moderated fantasy baseball drafts at the Bellagio in Las Vegas for the best players in the world, and even they have one. So, why wouldn’t there be a Challenge Hall of Fame?
Every week for the next four weeks I will have a poll to enter our first four (maximum) members of the Challenge Hall of Fame. After that, one per month. That said, not every poll will necessarily end with someone getting inducted. Just because people are eligible doesn’t necessarily mean they should earn that right. Each poll will feature a list of Challengers up for the vote, you may only vote for one option. There will also be a ‘None of the Above’ option, so that only the deserving find their way in.
In this vote, I ask that you vote not for your favorite Challenger, but for the most deserving. Try to be as objective as possible. Also, just because you dislike a Challenger doesn’t mean they aren’t worthy. Some of the most hated players are hated for the simple reason they are the best. We are looking for only the BEST Challengers. Championships matter, but don’t tell the full story (for you sports fans: Dan Marino, John Stockton, etc.). Elimination records, same thing. There are more reasons for great records, mediocre records and bad records in eliminations (i.e. competition, point during the season, et al) than meet the eye.
Use stats, use facts, use gut feelings. The first poll will be up on the Challenge Talk Facebook Group later this evening.
- Polls will run for 5 days to determine the outcome.
- Top outcome will determine who is elected; if that outcome is one of the Challengers, he/she will be elected into the HOF. If the top outcome is ‘None of the Above,’ no one from that grouping will be elected. Those Challengers not elected may run in a future poll.
- More rules may apply to fix any issues.
